Ya.. it WAS supposed to be over last week.. but well, we were called back for yet another recording session. I guess after today it will really be over.. FINALLY!
And after that.. Mecrus went to Chomp Chomp to eat.
Here’s what we ordered:
I ordered a small pizza. You choose up to 4 ingredients. So this one has bacon, button mushrooms and pepperoni. Best part, a small one only costs $5.
Yup, how can we do without Satay? Will religious Christians ask me not to eat Satay cos it’s only one letter away from Satan? Anyway, 5 mutton and 5 pork. Yes, we shared.

Eigene must purposely go order a BBQ stingray. Guys.. I want a Musicman stingray.. not a BBQ Stingray! And my two dear friends happeningly put a few shreds of the stringray, which they said: “No chili one”, on the piece of chwee kway with the chili. (refer to the above pic) And anyway in case you don’t know, I DON’T EAT CHILI… I WILL CRY.. YES.. I’m a wimp. Can? And yes, I ate the shreds, and still it was hot enough for me to say it’s hot. But thank God we ordered this………
Yes, it’s those super big glasses of sugar cane juice. Those that costs 3 bucks each. Yeah.. sugar cane heaven. And we had a glass each ok.. not share..
Anyway, hai.. still having a rather heavy heart today. I guess I really need to pray off the burdens in my heart. My mind is not right sometimes, I think. Oh well..
Just came back from my grandma’s place.. it was raining in the evening somehow the weather formed a nice mist over the entire island.. nice views… yeah she stays on the 32nd floor so yeah.. enjoy the pics..
Played a gig at Braddell Heights CC today.. It’s good money I tell you. Initially we were promised $100 per person for 4 songs. Then due to a shortage of funds, they have to cut it by half so it’s $50 per person. Ok, to me this is still the best paid gig I ever did anyway so doesn’t really bother me that much.
Thing is, we only got together to practice yesterday and we only managed to tie down 3 songs. And they insisted we play 4. So I suggested “Stand By Me” (no, not the Oasis one) out of sheer desparation. I mean, it’s only 4 chords. And I can take it out of the wedding gig repertoire. Anyway, while we were waiting for our turn, they told us they servrely overran and said we had to cut down to 3 songs. We were like, thank God. But when we were about to go out, they told us we could only play 2 songs. So we ended up playing 2 songs for 50 bucks. Beat that. And the rate we are paid per song ended up equal to the amount we were promised in the first place. Haha. God is good.
Anyway the story of the 5 P.C band was that on the order of events sheet, they put us down as a 5 piece band.. and it’s written as 5 pc band. Then while we were waiting, the emcee came and like asked us: “Excuse me, you are the 5 P.C. band is it?” I was ready to laugh. Haha. And Regina replied “5 piece.. 5 piece”. Haha. Anyway we decided we needed an impromtu name. We boiled it down to “The Gabriels”, “Regina And The Sunshine Band” and “Presence” (cos we were supposed to play the song Iris, which reminded us of the song Presence). Yeah.. we ended up going with Presence.
So ladies and gentlemen.. presenting to you…. PRESENCE
Oh.. and they gave us NewWater to drink.. lots of it.. check it out
Basically all I feel today and right now is … sigh… sigh.. sigh…
Sometimes seemingly little things affect you in a big way.. aiyah dunno lah.. I’m going mad… someone please slap me.

Amazing day today. Played for a happening wedding in the Zoo! Yes! The Zoo! On a Wednesday. Morning. Well done. Haha.Nice people and all..nice food… nice ambience.. but… NO ANG POW! Ok lah.. not that I wanna be money minded lah… but.. oh well, it’s a pretty westernised wedding (the groom’s caucasian) so I guess the concept of Ang Pows doesn’t exist.
But well.. got to visit the zoo for the first time in 12 years.. so here are some pics..
