Ben “The San Por Kia” Zhang

Man.. yesterday was a long long day. Went for service in the morning. Pst Tan prayed for the CGLs aged 24 and under. I was like “Heng ah! Haven’t step down yet.” But seriously, the presence was really strong. The moment I reached the front, I could already feel the strong presence, so much so I was struggling to stand up even before Pst Tan started praying. Awesome man!

Then played for Dialect service, which was actually a prayer meeting. Not bad, but a bit tiring. Anyway, to tie in with the album launch next week, the church is blessing those in the Dialect church who have been coming for a long time with a brand new CD player. Jonathan (the zone supervisor who oversees the Dialect church) was sharing that their initial plan was to ask the church members to donate second hand CD players for the elderly. When they brought the plan up to Pst Kong, he said why bother getting second hand? Give them brand new ones. Wow! I really love his mindset. God is not a second hand God. God is a generous God.

After that had a whole night of practice for the praise and worship for the Christmas service that is coming this coming Saturday. Then went for supper with Mecrus and Ben Zhang.

Haha, think I went crazy and started singing songs about Ben Zhang

Here is one I came up with.

Ben Zhang The San Por Drummer (Sing to the tune of Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer)

Ben Zhang the san por drummer

Had a very skinny leg

And If you ever saw it

You’ll say look like chicken leg

All of the other drummers

Always call him “San Por Kia”

Ben Zhang the San Por Drummer

Always call them “Si Gin Nah”

Then one music practice day

Tan Boon came to say

Ben Zhang  you may be skinny

But you will play like Jimmy Lee

Ben Zhang the san por drummer

Girlfriend’s name is Serena

And if he ever reads this

He will call me Si Gin Nah

He will call me Si Gin Nah

He will call me Si…… Gin……. Nah…………
